At a time that basketball-like any other sport, experiences the consequences of the crisis, it becomes clearer than ever that true success is based on the structure.
Experience shows us that only a solid structure allows not only grow in a favorable scenario, but above all, to overcome adverse circumstances. And from this finding is necessary, and probably also urgently, to proceed an analysis and reflection on the weaknesses and strengths of the system.
Currently, the revenue structure of basketball clubs and competitions are support by four pillars: Ticketing, season tickets, television rights and sponsorship and / or subsidies
In any case, the secret of a good structure, which remains over time, is a management based on balance and stability, and focused on the long term. The short-term projects and dependent on the immediate results may lead easily to crisis situations, which are very difficult to overcome.
In the world of sport, in a time of crisis, if the clubs are not solid, the process can end up leading to the economic imbalance, in the drop sport and finally the extinction of the entities. Of which in the recent history of our basketball have, unfortunately, many examples.
The only way possible to avoid critical situations is to build up on real economic bases. Because it has been sufficiently demonstrated that the only effect of financial chicanery and accounting engineering is to increase the deficit and revive the fiction of viability, without attacking the root of the problem.
The conclusion is that today, more than ever, success is not simply survive year to year but invest in a corporate-structure to ensure the future and permits, from the economic balance and institutional stability, not to give up the highest sporting aspirations.
